Emergency First Aid at Work - EFAW

Course Overview

This 1-day course provides the essential skills to handle medical emergencies in low-risk workplaces.

Roles & Responsibilities: Incident assessment, personal safety, and recording accidents.
Life-Saving Skills: Adult CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

First Aid at Work - FAW

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is the comprehensive, 3-day version of the EFAW. It is designed for "high-risk" environments (like construction, manufacturing, or chemical plants) or larger workplaces with more staff.

It covers everything in the EFAW course but adds extensive training on managing specific illnesses and severe trauma.

Automated External Defibrillator - AED Training

Course Content

Cardiac Arrest vs. Heart Attack: Learning the vital difference between an "electrical" heart issue and a "circulation" issue.
Safe Operation: How to correctly position the AED, attach the electrode pads, and follow the device's voice prompts.

Fire Safety and Awareness

1. Fire Awareness (Basic Staff Training)

This is a short session (1–3 hours) aimed at giving every employee the knowledge to prevent fires and exit safely.

The Fire Triangle: Understanding how fires start (Heat, Fuel, Oxygen) and how to break the cycle.
Hazard Identification: Spotting common risks like overloaded sockets, wedged-open fire doors, and poor waste management.
Fire Classifications: Knowing the difference between fires involving wood/paper, flammable liquids, or electrical equipment.
Emergency Procedures: What to do upon discovering a fire, how to raise the alarm, and understanding the building's specific evacuation plan.
Assembly Points: Knowing where to go and the importance of a roll call.
Fire Extinguisher Theory: Identifying the different types of extinguishers (Water, CO2, Foam, Powder) and which fires they are safe to use on.

1. Mandatory for All Employees

Every single person employed by a business must receive basic fire safety training. This includes:

Full-time and Part-time Staff: From the CEO to the newest recruit.
New Starters: Training should ideally be part of their induction on Day 1.
Contractors & Temporary Staff: Anyone regularly working on your premises needs to know how to exit safely.
